Pineapple tart, also known as yellow pear cakes, is one of the indispensable New Year's Eve cakes for Malaysian, Singaporean and Burnei Chinese during the Lunar New Year. it is one of the traditional pastries for Nyonya during the early days. Its production methods and materials are compatible with Taiwan Pineapple but the crisp is slightly different. Malaysian Chinese generally refer the pineapples as "yellow pears". Due to the homophonic "wanglai" of yellow pear in Cantonese, Chaozhou dialect and Quanzhang dialect, they are one of the luckiest and most fortunate beings and therefore have become pretty important food in the Lunar New Year.
Keep in cool & dry place, away from heat and light. For best flavour use oven to reheat the tart before use.
Contains wheat flour, egg, sugar, butter, pineapples, milk powder and may contains traces of nuts and peanuts.
